LIVENUP Takes Kids to See a Show

What's better than seeing Star Wars while the full force of Symphony Silicon Valley blasts the classic John Williams score live? Seeing the reactions of young people as they experience it for the first time.

LivenUp recently treated a group of students and staff from San Jose's Cristo Rey High School to this larger-than-life performance of Star Wars - A New Hope - and an opportunity to meet some musicians after the show. As always, our hope is that exposing kids to live performing arts will educate, inspire and maybe even change a life or two.

If you're an educator and know of a group of low-income students who would like to see a show, contact us at

If you're interested in helping to underwrite the cost of tickets for undeserved students, click the donate button below and give what you can. Our next fundraising drive is to bring middle school girls to see the touring production of WICKED, coming to the Center for Performing Arts in August.

everyone should see a show.

That’s the idea behind LivenUp. All our events raise mony to buy tickets so low-income students can see a live perfoming arts show. Seeing a live show can enrich a life, change a life, or inspire someone to do something truly amazing. Can’t make one of our events? You can still donate to help purchase tickets for kids.
